6 Novermber 2008 - Commission closed session on public procurement in ehealth

The European Commission has invited AER to nominate a limited number of experts in public procurement and health. The Commission will finance the participation (travel & accommodation) of a selection of these.

Does ICT have the power to change national health systems? What are the practical aspects of enabling transborder care?

Overcoming the legal challenges to ehealth

This seminar gave the possibility to discuss the legal challenges regions encounter in developing ehealth policies and alowed regions to learn from each other's successes and setbacks on how to overcome these.

Ministerial e-Health Conference, 6-7 May 2008, Portoroz (SL)

At the invitation of the European Commission (DG Information Society) the AER's delegation participated in the  eHealth Ministerial Conference, which was exclusively addressed to national governments of the EU Member States.
The theme of the Conference was:
'eHealth Without Frontiers'.

Ehealth Network Meeting: 11 April 2008, Vienna (A)

This working meeting allowed participants to:
- tell other regions what they are currently working on in ehealth
- inform us of their future priorities in ehealth
- discuss with other regions possible cooperation and funding opportunities, find partners or join projects

E-health during the Open Days 2007

The region of Norrbotten (S), in cooperation with the AER and DG SANCO, organised a workshop during the Open Days 2007 entitled "Fostering cross-border cooperation for healthcare and accessibility to health services" (Wednesday 10 October, 17:00-19:00).

Network meeting: 30 March 2007, Pécs (Baranya, H)

The aim of this meeting was to discuss and develop the activities of the AER e-health network and to allow regions to update each other on developments in their projects.

E-health: around the clock care for everyone, everywhere

Organised jointly by the AER and the County Council of Norrbotten (S) in June 2006, this conference highlighted the potential of e-health not only to improve the management and delivery of health services, but also to contribute to a region's overall economic development and competitiveness.
