Discussion with MEP Kallenbach on EU Territorial Agenda
This Breakfast Briefing took place on 4 March 2008, and covered the EU Territorial agenda and its relevance for regions.
Our speaker was MEP Gisela KALLENBACH (Verts/ALE, DE), rapporteur on the "Follow-up of the Territorial Agenda and the Leipzig Charter - Towards a European action program for spatial development and territorial cohesion".
The discussion with Ms. Kallenbach highlighted a number of topics related to territorial cohesion and regional policy. There is room to question the relationship between the Territorial agenda and the debate over Cohesion policy 2014+ and bring to the surface the issues such defining the concept of territorial cohesion, the partnership between member states and regions and the relationship between urban and rural areas.
