
Project Coordinator - Assembly of European Regions
The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is the largest independent network of regions in the wider Europe. Bringing together over 260 regions from 33 countries and 13 interregional organisations, AER's mission is to:
- Promote the principle of subsidiarity and regional democracy;
- Increase the regions' political influence within the European institutions;
- Support the regions in the process of European enlargement and globalisation;
- Facilitate interregional cooperation across wider Europe and beyond.
AER is looking for a motivated candidate to join its international team and to ensure the coordination of an Interreg IVC project. The candidate will be the main contact point for the project and will manage the work, the budget and activities of the partnership. The position requires technical experience as described below as well as highly developed social skills to ensure the active growth of the project network.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring thematic co-ordination of activities and components
- Oversee the efficient and timely co-ordination of the project
- Liaise with Interreg IVC secretariat and act as link between the project partners for fruitful collaboration
- Organising the coordination meetings & gather information for reporting
- Supporting bridge activities & promote the network
- Ensuring the smooth organisation of the refunds process, together with financial expert
Requirements:
- Ability to coordinate a consortium and to motivate its participants
- Proven experience in a project management
- Familiarity with Interreg funding
- Excellent writing and communications skills (native English or comparable, French or German highly recommended)
- Strategic thinking and planning ability
- Self motivated and ability to manage own workload
How to apply:
The project “Peer Reviews for Sustainable Eco-Regions via Europe” (PRESERVE) will involve 13 regional authorities and the AER as lead partner. Should the project be selected for funding, AER will hire a part-time project coordinator ready to start by the end of September. The contract will last for the entire project duration, ie. 3 years.
