The largest annual conference in this field in Europe offered once again a unique combination of events on sustainable energy production and use, covering energy efficiency and renewable energy sources for buildings, industry and transport.
This year, the focus was put on Pellets on 28/02, with a wide range of actors explaining the various aspects of this particular technologies. Many stands allowed the participants to pursue the discussion during the breaks and meet companies, associations, regional and local authorities and exchange on this specific topic.
On the second day, a large conference on energy efficiency was organised in parallel to the continuation of the Pellets conference and a seminar on rural development and renewable energies.

This symposium addressed current state-of-the-art renewable energy technologies and their contributions to a future energy supply system. The energy sector is one of the most vital domains for both global and regional development. Climate change, security of supply and sustainable development are fundamental challenges to be met in the coming decades. Renewable Energies have increased their contribution to most countries' energy mixes with a breathtaking speed. The symposium aimed to bring together scientists and engineers with stakeholders from politics and industry on an European level to promote a successful mutual exchange on the European perspective of decentralised energy systems.
