Structure and missions of the Sub-Committee

Interregional and international co-operation activities are in charge of the AER Sub-Committee "International and Interregional Cooperation" and the Secretariat of Committee 3.

The Sub-Committee is chaired by Mrs Marie-Françoise MULLER, Vice-President of AER Committee 3 and of the Region of Bourgogne (F) in charge of international and European relations and decentralised cooperation.

Group Activities and missions are:

  • Development co-operation: fostering and intensifying the cooperation between the Regions concerning common approaches of the Millennium Goals.
  • Coordination of the regional projects in the field of development with support of the UNDP, EU and other organisations.
  • Launching of the regional network between the AER members concerning specific geographic themes, such as the Mediterranean, South-East and East Europe
  • Providing support to the regions in these areas in form of tools and instruments for interregional co-operation.

Taking all these objectives into account, the AER fully engages in the UN's goal that 0,7% of the national GDPs be devoted to development co-operation.

Please note:

Persons/Regions wishing to join the Sub-Committee are kindly invited to contact the secretariat of AER Committee 3
