C2C - City to City Final Conference - Migration: a Changing World

The AER Observatory on Gender Issues decided in Timisoara, RO (Oct. 11-12, 2007) that the AER should strive to give a voice to those women who are the least heard in Europe : Migrant Women. The AER General Assembly in Udine ratified this decision and today the AER is one of the co-organizers of the C2C - City to City final conference - Migration: a changing World.

The overall goal of this conference is to bring to the attention of the policy- makers the work implemented at regional level by authorities and stakeholders in order to establish a continuing dialogue between the EU institutions and the European stakeholders with regard to migration policies and priorities on the territories.

The objective of the event is to discuss, share and showcase actual policies, measures and pilot actions implemented at regional level by the C2C partners and other projects financed by EU and mainstreaming regional programs (Interreg, ESF, Equal etc).

The audience will be made up of European, national and regional stakeholders and decision-makers

The event is a moment to share with other stakeholders and the EU institutions the activities and the regional policies on migration, focusing on good practices and identifying priorities and needs of the European territories. For logistics reasons the conference element and the actual exhibition will take place in different venues and times : the Committee of the Regions building and the Hilton Hotel.

The exhibition at the Hilton Hotel will include :

1. Exhibit of projects/actions (stands of different projects)

2. Visual presentation (cinema corner and photo exhibit, cultural shows and networking cocktail)

3. Animation of the European debate on migration (opening session, 3 thematic workshops and closing conference).

President SABBAN will represent the AER at this event.

Interpretation will be available in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
