"REGIONS REACT": AER Project Proposal - Call for Partners

The AER has a proposal for an interregional cooperation project which we would like to submit for EC co-financing under Interreg IVC during the second call for proposals, expected to be launched in June. The working title for this project is "Regions React".

  • What do we want to do?

Our idea is to create a network of regional experts and institutions active in Emergency Planning. The network will undertake the following activities:

  • Training sessions with the participation of regional experts, in order to share best practices, to prevent emergencies and to identify possible solutions in case of crisis
  • Develop a database with contacts to experts across Europe's regions, examples of best practice and outcomes of past projects in emergency planning. The aim is to create a one-stop-shop for regions that are looking for information and assistance in this area.
  • At the end of the project, the AER expects to have created a regional network consisting of people who know each other well and know how to work together. This network will then operate independently on the basis of solidarity, continuing to help regions that need assistance in preventing and responding to emergencies.
  • What do we expect from our partner regions?

We are looking for 6-10 regions to become partners to this project. Each partner region would be expected to make the following commitments:

  • Host one meeting during the project's duration (3 years)
  • Appoint one contact person within the region to be the key interlocutor of the lead partner (the AER)
  • Want to participate?

If you are interested in participating to this project, please contact the Committee 2 Secretariat (Ms Claudia Meschede, Junior Policy Coordinator, Temporary Assistant: +33 3 88 22 74 35).
